Sasol’s Petroleum Jelly and
Fischer-Tropsch Wax
Sasol is a leading specialist in innovative wax technology for whom EPChem is the authorised sales channel in Southeast Asia and China regions. Sasol’s products ranges from Fischer-Tropsch wax to food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical grade petroleum jelly. Sasol is executing a R8,4 billion Fischer Tropsch Wax Expansion Project which will double its hard wax production in South Africa and the first phase of the project will commence operation in the second half of 2012.

EPChem International Pte Ltd, is a Singapore-based marketing and distribution company, established in 1992. EPChem supplies special performance chemicals in the Asia Pacific region, dedicated to the area of wax and its related products.

Shell Expansion
EPChem, since 1993 has been the official distributor for Shell’s gas-to-liquid (GTL) waxes in Southeast Asia, South Africa and Greater China. Shell has invested a total of US$ 1 billion in its Bintulu plant, which includes a US$ 90 million expansion project launched in September 2009. Shell MDS plant has the capacity to convert three million m³ of natural gas into 14,700 bpd of GTL products per day and the expansion project, which is expected to be completed by mid-2011, will allow the plant to double its wax production capacity.
