CoQ10 is a natural anti-oxidant generated by our body. The levels of CoQ10 in the skin decline between the ages of 30 and 80 years resulting in a decrease in ability to produce collagen, elastin and other important skin molecules.
CoQ10s-depleted skin are prone to damage by free radicals produced during stress, cell metabolism, exposure to sun and pollution, toxins and cigarette smoke.
CoQ10 is able to protect skin from aging in the presence of UVA. It can boost skin repair and regeneration and reduce free radical damage.
CoQ10 being a small molecule can penetrate the skin relatively easily and when applied topically, it is capable of providing extra protection for your skin thus achieving an anti-wrinkle effect.
1 CoQ10 levels decrease in the epidermis between the ages of 30 and 80 years (R2 = 0.802, p = 0.0014). Values are normalized to the cholesterol content of the samples.
1CoQ10 reduces the depth of wrinkles in the area around the eyes over a 6 month period of use.

At in-cosmetics Asia held from 4 to 6 November 2008 in Bangkok, Innospec's Active Chemicals launched a sulfate-free, highly water-soluble ISETHIONATE surfactant, PUREACT SLMI-85. Other highlights of the show included surfactants, dispersants, conditioning agents, rheology modifiers, a biodegradable chelant (NATRLQUEST E-30) and novel mini sponge beads (ACTIVSOFT MS100).
